On a wet morning in August 1990 I visited the 10.25in gauge Mull & West Highland Railway on the Isle of Mull. This part shows a return journey over the 1.25 mile line from Craignure to Torosay behind island built diesel GLEN AULDYN. Roger Marsh built LADY OF THE ISLES is glimpsed briefly and features in part 2.

In July 1989 I visited the 20in gauge Shipley Glen Tramway near Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is the Oldest working Cable Tramway in Great Britain. Opened in 1895 it is still open and is now manned by volunteers after being saved from closure by members of the Bradford Trolleybus Association. (http://www.glentram way.co.uk/)

In September 1989 we visited the 7.25in gauge Weston Park Railway in Shropshire. Ex-Hilton Valley Railway #4 was in service ... note the coaches still in HVR livery. This part consists of film of the main station and arrivals/departures. Part 2 is a full-circuit of the line.

We made a return visit to the 15" gauge Bure Valley Railway in June 2008 and walked the Bure Valley Footpath that parallels the track from Aylsham to Wroxham. During our walk, and on our return by train, we observed 'Spitfire'in action at various points along the line.
